Benco Dental Acquires Holliday Dental Co.
Wilkes-Barre, Pa.-based Benco Dental announced the acquisition of McLouth, Kan.-based Holliday Dental Co. Holliday Dental specializes in equipment sales, installation, and service. The employees of Holliday Dental will join the existing Benco team in serving the Kansas and Missouri markets in their entirety.
"The acquisition of Holliday Dental Supply fits perfectly with our business development strategy of seeking out like-minded companies who are intensely customer focused, and combining their strengths with our wide breadth of services and inherent efficiencies," Benco President Chuck Cohen said.
Holliday Dental and its president, James A. (Doc) Holliday, have been servicing the Kansas area for 20 years. Benco will retain Holliday as part of its service team, while his employees, with over 50 years combined experience, will remain in their positions with Benco.
"At Holliday Dental Co., we’ve always searched for ways to enhance service and deliver more value to our customers," Holliday said. "As part of Benco Dental, we will be able to offer customers a vastly larger product selection and full digital offering."
Holliday Dental marks the seventh such acquisition by Benco in the past year, strengthening the company’s presence throughout the United States.
Lang Dental names new national accounts manager
Lang Dental named Jennifer Lang as its new national accounts manager. The addition of Lang increases the level of commitment and dedication to Lang Dental’s customer relations, the company said.
New Shofu president visits North American headquarters
San Marcos, Calif, Shofu Dental Corporation welcomed Noriyuki Negoro, the new President of Shofu worldwide, to its North American headquarters. Since assuming the presidency of Shofu, an international dental manufacturing company based in Kyoto, Japan, Negoro has embarked on a worldwide tour, visiting Shofu locations and meeting with customers and distribution partners throughout Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, and across Asia and the Pacific Rim. Negoro was accompanied by Yoshi Wakino, VP and senior managing director of Shofu. Negoro and Wakino’s visit to Shofu’s San Marcos office included a tour of the facility, a dedication ceremony and a lunch reception that was attended by City of San Marcos and Chamber of Commerce officials, including Jim Desmond, mayor of San Marcos; Joan Priest, president and CEO of San Marcos Chamber of Commerce; Steve Kildoo, City of San Marcos planning commissioner and the Government Affairs Committee Chair of the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce; and Douglas Kibbe, ambassador for the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce.
KAB Dental receives export achievement certificate
Nashville, Tenn.-based KAB Dental was awarded the U.S. Commercial Services Export Achievement Certificate by the U.S. Department of Commerce (Washington, D.C.). This certificate recognizes small and medium-sized enterprises that have successfully entered into the international marketplace for the first time or that have successfully entered a new market. In a letter sent to KAB President Kirit Bhatt, Michigan Congressman Sander Levin commented, "Your effort to expand into new markets around the world helps us to maintain and grow jobs here in Michigan." Says Bhatt, "The recent worldwide financial shakedown has made us focus on the fundamentals of our business. Our sales have remained strong. Midmark announces changes to corporate structure
Versailles, Ohio-based Midmark Corporation announced the completion of its new corporate structure. Greg Blackmore will assume the newly created position of COO, North America. To complete the C-level structure, Anthony D. Borzillo took the position as CFO. Blackmore previously served as senior VP and group president, life sciences, for STERIS Corporation (Mentor, Ohio). Prior to joining Midmark, Borzillo was a financial consultant with Qorval LLC, a financial consulting firm, where he became managing director. With these new organizational changes, Midmark president and CEO Dr. Anne Eiting Klamar will devote a higher quotient of her time to corporate strategy, innovation and driving the company’s growth initiatives in domestic and international markets.
GC America announces expansion project
GC America (Alsip, Ill.) celebrated a groundbreaking of its dental healthcare manufacturing facility expansion, which will increase by 25 percent to 100,000 square feet. GC Corporation (GCC) (Tokyo, Japan) is moving one of its manufacturing plants from Japan to Alsip and will make it a state-of-the-art facility to handle increased production. This sets the stage for the future growth and expansion of GCA as a U.S. dental manufacturer.
