Midmark honors top dental sales reps
Versailles, Ohio-based Midmark Corp. honored its top dental sales performers during its annual national sales meeting. This year’s theme was "Movin’ on Up!" Several new products and product concepts were introduced, including Midmark’s new PowerAir™ Oil-less Dental Air Compressor line, which evolved from two very successful dental compressor brands – Apollo and Matrx.
During the four-day meeting, the sales representatives received hands-on product training and participated in role playing during these sessions. Many engineers from Midmark were also involved to assist in the product presentations and answer questions.
A particularly beneficial segment of the meeting for Midmark’s territory sales professionals was the "shadow time" they received. The objective was to give them an idea of the complexities and challenges that Midmark’s operations groups deal with on a day-to-day basis.
At the company’s awards banquet, Midmark’s top sales performers during the year were recognized. The awards included:
Prestigious Eagle Award, Territory Sales Representative of the Year - Michael Hall
Regional Manager of the Year - Kenny Schwing
Territory Sales Representative of the Eastern Region and Focus Award - Air & Vac - Matt Buettner
Territory Sales Representative of the Central Region - Mike Harwood

Rookie of the Year - Matt Anderson

Hu-Friedy introduces SporeCheck In-Office System
Hu-Friedy introduced SporeCheck,
a biological indicator (BI) monitoring system designed to upgrade in-office infection control practices by ensuring the fastest and most effective sterilization of dental instruments. SporeCheck also helps dental professionals comply with best practices guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the American Dental Association (ADA). SporeCheck’s accuracy helps dental professionals quickly assess that their steam sterilizer is functioning properly, resulting in a decrease in the potential use of non-sterile instruments. It provides easy-to-read, reliable results in only 24 hours, as compared to most in-office spore tests that yield results in 48 hours or more, or traditional mail-in tests that can take weeks to obtain results.
SporeCheck is compatible with all types of steam sterilizers; including gravity, pre-vacuum and Statim. The innovative system is also compatible with existing dry-lock incubators. In addition to the CDC and ADA recommendations that dental sterilization procedures and equipment be monitored with weekly biological testing, additional spore testing should be conducted in the following circumstances: whenever implants are included in a sterilization load; whenever a new type of packaging material or tray is used; after training new sterilization personnel; after a sterilizer has been repaired, and after any change in the sterilizer loading procedures.
