ADC welcomes new members
Nashville, Tenn.-based National Distribution & Contracting, Inc. (NDC) announced that Midco Dental Supply and M&S Dental Supply have joined the American Dental Cooperative (ADC).
Midco Dental Supply was founded in 1980 by Rick Owens. They have grown as an equipment dealer in the Oklahoma market over the past 20 years and are now expanding into the greater Dallas area. In addition, they will be incorporating merchandise into their product offering to their client base. Owens, with his son Taylor, manages this family owned business. Midco is based in Tuttle, Okla., with a branch in Tulsa, Okla., and a new distribution center in Dallas. Midco has a team of six service technicians and nine sales reps calling on customers.
M&S Dental Supply was founded in 1987 by Michael Kuchta. Based in Ozone Park, N.Y., the company covers the greater metropolitan New York City and tri-state market. M&S has grown its business steadily over the past 20 years with a dedicated staff of sales and service professionals. They provide both merchandise and equipment to their customer base.
DTA names new Foundation Officers
New DTA Foundation Officers were elected in December, 2006.

Whip Mix acquires Ardent International
Louisville, Ky.-based Whip Mix Corp. acquired ARdent International, Inc., a manufacturer of dental articulating paper, film, and accessories, located in Ossining, N.Y. ARdent products include a wide selection of articulating papers. ARdent products are available through dental supply dealers located in the United States, Canada, Europe, South America and the Asia.
"The acquisition of ARdent allows us to broaden the Whip Mix product lines by offering customers additional top quality products," said Allen Steinbock, president of Whip Mix. "This acquisition is part of our strategic plan to acquire quality companies and products to support our loyal laboratory customers and increase the breadth of products offered for the dental office."
Midmark hosts technicians at Dental Service School
Service technicians from various companies recently spent three days at Midmark’s Dental Service School in Versailles, Ohio to learn about Midmark products. Product focuses included Midmark’s dental chairs, instrument delivery units, sterilizers, lighting and Apollo vacuums and compressors.
"Our schools provide very thorough, hands-on training that is beneficial to technicians who service our products," said Craig Reed, dental service technician and classroom instructor for Midmark.
Instructor Craig Reed led the dental equipment training and Jeff Sanders conducted the sterilizer training. Attendees (pictured top right, page 37) included Rolland Harris, Richard Funk, Troy Hunter and David Newton of Benco Dental; Gene Hartley, Jr. of Parkway Dental; John Karnick of Becker-Parkin Dental; Christy Hoffman of East Tennessee State University; Tom Lazor of Dental Products and Service; and Andrew Nugent and Frank Cooper of Henry Schein Ash Arcona.
Service technicians of Sullivan-Schein Dental also recently attended Midmark’s Dental Service School.
"These technicians spent many hours in the classroom, completed the course and
are now certified repair technicians for Midmark equipment," said Jeff Sanders, dental
service technician and classroom instructor for Midmark. Technicians who attended this training also learned about Documark, Midmark’s repository for technical documentation on its products. It is produced for the benefit of service technicians, end-users, sales representatives and anyone else who requires access to its manuals and other documents. Instructor Dan Stockslager led the dental equipment training and Jeff Sanders conducted the sterilizer training. Attendees (pictured bottom right, page 37) included Rick Reichert of New Jersey, Will Paris of Pennsylvania, Mark Ruedisueli of Ohio, John Duggan of Colorado, Marty Rector of Virginia and Jeff Clark and Greg Betush of California.
