Some DTA programs to look for in 2008.
Gary W. Price, CEO, DTA
The Dental Trade Alliance (DTA) is the voice for U.S. dental companies. DTA represents distributors, laboratories and manufacturers in North America. The DTA mission is to help your business and increase demand for dental products and services. To further these goals, DTA offers a variety of services and programs, including skills training, market data reports, leadership seminars, affinity programs as well as business and networking forums. The DTA Web site provides information on all our valuable programs. www.dentaltradealliance.org.
Here are several DTA programs for distributors and their employees to consider. In 2008, DTA will be hosting an exhibitor lounge at dental meetings, including Yankee Dental Congress in Boston, CDS Midwinter Meeting in Chicago, CDA Scientific Sessions in Anaheim and the ADA Annual Session in San Antonio. DTA members, their employees and guests are welcome to take a break at the DTA Lounge, enjoy refreshments, check e-mail or have a private meeting. There is no fee to use the DTA Lounge. (For DTA Members only)
DTA has identified dates for its next Mini–Dental School at the University of Colorado, School of Dentistry in Denver. In June, industry professionals will train with the dental school faculty. This is a compact two-day program. Participants learn dental anatomy, nomenclature, practice specialties, how to drill a carry or prep for an endodontic procedure. Mini–Dental School helps attendees to better understand the needs of dentists. (Contact Denise Bundy at DTA at denisebundy@dentaltradealliance.org – 703/ 379-7755 for more Mini–Dental School information)
DTA is also proud of its new online Introduction to Dental Learning. This is a 17-module training series providing a background in dentistry for new employees. The graphics are expansive and entertain as well as educate new sales reps and customer service technicians. The training is available to any employee with a computer, Internet access and an e-mail address. Best of all – there is testing following each module. Companies can monitor training and testing from an account set up by DTA. Companies can purchase training like seats in a theater with discounts for multiple seats. Employees may revisit the modules for a refresher course for up to one year.
For more information about the DTA Exhibitor Lounge, online training, Mini-Dental School or other DTA products and services, please visit www.dentaltradealliance.org, or call DTA at (703) 379-7755.
We hope that all our company members and their employees will take advantage of the many services and products that DTA provides. [FI]
