Darby Dental hosts Darby-Q event
Memphis, Tenn.-based Darby Dental Supply held its first annual Darby-Q at Tom Lee Park, Memphis - along the banks of the Mississippi River. More than 600 dentists, hygienists, assistants, and office managers took part in the festivities. Darby hosted the event as a way to thank and support the Memphis dental community. A celebrity guest list consisted of Chris Wallace from the Memphis Grizzlies and longtime Elvis sidekick and TV personality, George Klein. In addition, Dr. Robert Maddux from Hernando, Miss., won the drawing for a Backwoods Smoker Chubby Cooker, valued at over $900.
"It was a fun time where we lay our everyday business concerns by the riverbanks and enjoyed three days of great food and drink with our customers, suppliers, and their families," explained Darby Dental Supply president Gary Rosenberg.
Midmark names new dental sales representative
Versailles, Ohio-based Midmark Corporation announced that Steve Mikulski was named as the new dental sales representative for New England, including Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont and New Hampshire. Prior to joining Midmark, Mikulski was a territory manager for BioLase Technology (Irvine, Calif.). Mikulski will be developing opportunities for Midmark’s dental product line as well as identifying new business prospects through distribution partners. Mikulski will report directly to Ted Kehagias, regional sales manager, dental products - East Coast region.
Zirc hosts Henry Schein reps
Zirc played host to the Minnesota Branch of Henry Schein representatives in late August. After refreshments and a company tour, Zirc continued the meeting with training sessions on its unique color code system and products, along with an in-depth look at the Crystal HD mouth mirror line. Overall, the visit offered Henry Schein representatives a chance to learn more about Zirc and its products.
Essential Dental names Cologgi sales rep
Essential Dental Systems, Inc. (EDS) recently appointed Andrea Cologgi as a Sales Representative for the entire state of Florida. In this position, Cologgi will be responsible for developing and servicing EDS partners as well as driving sales opportunities within her region.
Cologgi comes to EDS with an extensive sales background and has spent the last 19 years as an account manager with both Berkshire Hathaway and Canon USA.

Belmont introduced its Bel-Cypher digital panoramic X-ray system. The system provides an economical way to capture panoramic and TMJ images. In addition, Bel-Cypher features a special bitewing imaging mode. The system is TWAIN compliant, and will interface with most practice management software. Bel-Cypher utilizes a high frequency inverter and has a small focal spot to produce crisp, clear images - even with minor patient positioning errors.
