Henry Schein, its supplier partners, and Team Schein members to donate $500,000 to aid Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts
Henry Schein Inc (Melville, NY) announced that the company, its supplier partners, and Team Schein Members will donate $500,000 in cash and healthcare products to relief organizations working in affected areas throughout Texas and Louisiana. In response to the catastrophic damage, the Henry Schein Cares Foundation opened the Henry Schein Cares Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief Fund (Fund) to raise money for relief efforts. Henry Schein Inc will match Team Schein Member donations to the Fund up to $50,000 and will donate much-needed medical supplies (e.g. gloves, gauze, bandages, hand sanitizer, toothpaste and mouthwash, vitamins, and syringes) to relief organizations, bringing the total initial commitment to $500,000.

Patterson Dental announces relief to customers affected by Hurricane Harvey
Patterson Dental (St. Paul, MN), a business unit of Patterson Companies, is offering a variety of financial terms to dentists operationally affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana to help them re-equip and re-supply their dental practice. Patterson Dental’s outreach efforts are being conducted within affected communities through its Houston and San Antonio, Texas and New Orleans, Louisiana branches. Dentists affected by the hurricane in Texas and Louisiana in the counties where a state of emergency has been declared can obtain assistance from Patterson by contacting their local representative or calling (800) 873-7683.

SciCan USA opens new training facility
SciCan USA, announced it has completed the remodeling of its Canonsburg, Pa.-based training center, providing a multi-faceted hands-on learning space. Facility features include contemporary furniture, state-of-the-art presentation hardware, three, fully-functioning steri-centers and one dental unit. Steri-centers from Planmeca, A-Dec, and Pelton & Crane line the perimeter and each is fitted with everything SciCan from STATIMs and BRAVOs to HYDRIMs (both large and small), VistaPure systems as well as STATClean ultrasonic and STATMATIC handpiece maintenance units.

“It’s designed to showcase the SPEC (Safe, Predictable, Efficient, Compliant) sterilization and instrument reprocessing framework, all SciCan products, and how the G4 networking technology connects to it,” says Product Manager Stacey Graf. Two 60-inch flat screens display G4 cycle data from all connected STATIM G4’s and HYDRIM G4’s. SciCan technicians receive instant and accurate communication from the connected equipment, allowing for the equipment to be remotely supported.

Bringing learning as close to the real setting as possible will enable staff, sales representatives, technicians and dealers to better serve SciCan users, the company said in a release. Classes for 2017 will host approximately 200 trainees with 16 training classes scheduled.
